MY HOME IN is a French company founded by Laurent Bernard in 2012. Following the construction of a beautiful villa J on the island of Re (French Atlantic Coast), Laurent was questioning himself about the best way and tools (internet portals) to rent his property out during the summer holidays. Instead of using one of the known generalist portals, he decided to get his own set up. Initially, this website was supposed to be fully dedicated to his house but soon neighbours and friends from the Ile de Ré requested to get their properties added to his website. This is how the first MY HOME IN website was born, being fully dedicated to the island of Re.
Reinforced by a successful experience (in 2017, MY HOME IN on the island of Ré is the reference to book safely a property with more than 600 properties listed, €2M distributed to properties owners and more than 1200 bookings made), Laurent picked up the right people to help him expanding MY HOME IN over 30 touristic destinations duly identified. There was a first try made once the first MY HOME IN website was launched in 2012 but at this time the rental seasonal market was unknown to Laurent and MY HOME IN too new to carry on with any kind of expansion!
Late 2017, early 2018, 30 new MY HOME IN websites are launched, most of them being dedicated to very “classical” touristic destinations such as Corsica, Nice, Cannes, Saint Tropez, Marseille for the Mediterranean coast; Arcachon, Cap Ferret, Biarritz, Saint Jean de Luz, the island of Oleron, or La Baule for the Atlantic coast. Up north, Quiberon, Deauville or Saint Malo to name a few. Mountains destinations are part of MY HOME IN from spring 2018.
The principles behind MY HOME IN websites are the same as the one applying to Ile de Re, offering to potential tenants an environment fully dedicated to the touristic destination they are interested in. Obviously, they can find holiday home for rent but also a touristic guide about the destination and a blog informing them on the upcoming events. Moreover, the ads are being selected and the availability calendars must be up to date by the owner pretending in being listed on MY HOME IN. There is no need for a tenant to look for a property through another website as he can find on MY HOME IN all the necessary information. On the owner’s side, MY HOME IN offers an environment adding value to the property and better quality enquiries as well – MY HOME IN’s users know where they intend to spend their next holiday, so no waste of time!
MY HOME IN websites have all the functionalities that the other well known portals (most of the time generalists and belonging one way or another to American companies) have: instant booking, online secured payment, security deposit and cancellation policy managements. One big plus, its customer service! MY HOME IN team is available 7 days a week to guide, advise and help the tenants in the organisation of their holiday rentals.
